Sold an expensive item. Buyer received item but didn't like the packaging so threatened to leave negative feedback if I didn't partially refund.

I was nothing but polite, offered a (small) partial refund or 100% refund if returned.

I have had so many abusive rude emails. It's so hard not to call him the utter wanker he clearly is.

I don't even know why I'm posting here, the whole thing has just really thrown me. Confused

Almost every sale I grit my teeth for several days waiting for someone to email me saying x or y isn’t to their liking and they want money back.

I’m the same. I sell sporadically as and when I find things worth selling, usually just clothing or baby/children items. I always live in dread of getting a message about something. eBay is very much in favour of buyers so it’s difficult to sell.

I agree with PP’s though, definitely contact eBay.

Quick update - surprise surprise buyer didn't send the item back, as I suspected would be the case. eBay closed the case in my favour, released the funds and removed the negative feedback, feel very relieved right now!
