I have dry skin. What should I be doing?

Soaking then moisturising? Filing doesn't seem to do anything at all.

Footner socks. You can get something similar in Home Bargains for 89p, they're called DermaV10 or something, do not be tempted by these. You won't peel for a fortnight, then when you DO start to peel, it will continue for weeks. Footner is much more expensive but miles better. Often cheaper on Ebay.

Soak, pumice stone, then really good moisturizer.

Dairyqueen2 · 17/07/2019 15:18

Get a battery operated thing - like a mini sander for feet. Can't remember it's real name but we call it the ankle grinder in our house Smile, Then Norwegian Formula heel cream - works a treat

Foot file or one of those electric thingies, soak, exfoliate with gritty cream (still not found one that's better than Scholl), then moisturise. CCS professional foot cream (from Boots) is very good for general moisturising, Flexitol heel balm if they're cracked/splitting.

I've added my feet to my night time moisturising routine and since I've been putting cream on them every night, they've been in really good nick, so I think maintenance might be key.

See a chiropodist/podiatrist (they are the same thing) even just as a one off then maintain yourself thereafter.

I now have it sorted after years of trying.
Every day before shower I use my electic pedi thingy for a minute or two- especially on heels.
After shower Flexitol foot and leg cream- it is amazing.
And this is after using pumice stones and other moisturisers etc. daily which never seemed to quite do the trick.
Hope it works for you too.

I have the electric sander thing.. although I think my son has hidden it again... I'm going to get some heel balm and make sure I do it every night

agree with all of the above. Also put vaseline over your heels at night and then put on socks and sleep in them. Not a great look but it works.

I'm trying my hardest to use up old stuff in my cupboard. Will bio oil help?

I have something that looks a bit like a rugby ball if it was made from pink sandpaper
Have no idea where I bought it or what it's called, so not v helpful.
But I get out of the shower and while my feet are still wet, rasp them with the rigby ball then smother them in aveeno lotion.
Baby soft feet

SolidInstallation · 17/07/2019 17:06

If left untreated, I have horrible cracked heels. Flexitol and ‘sanding down’ once a week sorts them out.

cockcrowfarm · 18/07/2019 12:47

Salt and vinegar are my favorite, cheap and very effective. !Soak your feet in vinegar solution for about half an hour. Make it strong, use a full bottle of any cheap vinegar, can add a bit of soap ir bubble bath if you like. After rub a handful of salt into each foot for a couple of minutes. Rinse, dry and moisturise.
