I am sick of buying knickers that I'm having to keep hoiking up. I've tried M&S and Debenhams thinking the pricier pants would be better but the elastic is just crap and they're falling down as I'm walking about doing anything. I could almost live with that but I work in an operating theatre environment and can't be pulling pants up when I'm scrubbed. Please someone give me good and fair price knicker recommendations. No things though.

Honestly, I still wear my maternity knickers I bought from Mothercare and they're the only ones that I've ever had that don't fall down

AlmostAJillSandwich · 16/07/2019 18:31

I use matalan high legs, i can't hoik up as i have OCD and it would mean a ton of hand washing, they have a bit of lycra in as well so hold up pretty well. £5 for a pack of 5.

crispysausagerolls · 16/07/2019 18:32

I have never ever ever enjoyed a pair of knickers the same way I enjoy this random pair I bought from Benetton on my honeymoon. I have no idea why I haven’t just gone to a local one and bought some more - they are incredible.

DitheringBlidiot · 16/07/2019 18:34

Sainsbury’s!

Nan0second · 16/07/2019 18:35

My favourite are the ones I sewed myself (beginners pattern)
Have you considered buying custom pants like albert and Marjorie on Facebook?

PooWillyBumBum · 16/07/2019 18:35

This sounds weird but are you definitely wearing the right size? As in, are they being stretched too much so the elastic knackers?

I’m always surprised to hear of elastic going. I’ve worn everything from agent provocateur to primark and all inbetween and never had any elastic go on anything...and I keep my pants for years.

RandomNameChange415 · 16/07/2019 18:38

Primark’s shorts style are apparently 99% elastic. I’d defy them to fall down in an earthquake.

Lwmommy · 16/07/2019 18:40

Slight midi pants, expensive but they last forever and fit.

I'm apple shaped me I swear all these 'zero feel' 360 stretch pants are not designed for people like me.

Bought the £6 a pair m&s zero feel ones the other day, half an hour of wear and they were falling down and in the bin. Useless!

Lwmommy · 16/07/2019 18:41

Oops autocorrect - Sloggi midi

Elletine · 16/07/2019 18:41

Boux Avenue and Victoria's Secret never let me down. Generally I size up so stuff isn't tight and stretched and they last until I get bored and get new ones forever

MissCalamity · 16/07/2019 18:43

Ditto @DitheringBlidiot
I get the 5 packs from Tu when they are on the 25% off, I always get the "brazillians" I think they are called, just a bog standard knickers with lace on the back trims.
I don't believe I've bought any other knickers for a good couple of years! Grin

Namechanger001 · 16/07/2019 18:43

Wow some fast responders. Thanks I 'd not thought about Matalan and even Sainsbury's. I will go check those out and have a try of a few on my days off. I can't even try out for woek as I have that issue and it drives me crazy.

Poowillybumbum- yeah I'm sure I'm not going for too small a size as they're certainly not digging in and they start the falling down on the first wear. I think the worst ones are those pretty silly looking ones you get from M&S which have elastic all the way through and not just a thick band around the top. I really think it's like the shops just can't be bothered to pay for decent elastic and test them out before they start selling them and they're useless.

Wavey123 · 16/07/2019 18:48

Sainsbury’s big high waisted ones with the frilly bit (it’s fine) at the front around the elastic are the only ones that don’t fall down on me

FudgeBrownie2019 · 16/07/2019 18:51

It's an odd one but Wonderbra make pants and theirs are amazing. I'm off to the gym in a minute and have a few pairs specifically for under my gym clothes because they're invincible.

RandomlyChosenName · 16/07/2019 18:58

I can’t help OP, but want to join in on the conversation... I hadn’t bought any new pants for a while, then I bought a pack from Matalan and later on a pack from Next (which is where my before pants were from).

Neither type of pants has proper eleastic round the legs, so I keep getting wedgies. It is so annoying!

Why don’t they have proper elastic around the legs anymore???

Incidentally OP, neither set of pants fall down.

ContinuityError · 16/07/2019 19:16

Sloggi basics last for years, and no elastic failure (maxi or midi). Currently on sale on the UK website Smile

DontCallMeShitley · 16/07/2019 19:25

The very soft ones tend to fall down, those with the pretty lace band at the top. Smaller size in the same style falls down, next size up rides up and gives me a wedgie. M&S and George both do this.

My problem is finding knickers that don't ride up, I don't want my cheeks uncovered.

palahvah · 16/07/2019 19:46

Are they too big, OP?

Sainsburys high waisted knickers. I bought some 7 years ago after having a caesarian and never looked back

JamieDornansBiatch · 16/07/2019 20:44

Victoria Secret boy shorts - nice thick elastic band around the waist & stay up even in the gym!

slipperywhensparticus · 16/07/2019 20:47

My Mark's and sparks boy shorts style are pretty good to be fair and my primark shorts too

Is it the style rather than the fit?

nexttonormal · 16/07/2019 20:48

ASDA no VPL lace shorts. Love them!

DitheringBlidiot · 16/07/2019 22:43

@Wavey123 these are the exact ones I get! Especially when 25-% off!

DitheringBlidiot · 16/07/2019 22:45

Want to point out that I have never had to pull a wedgie out or pull y pants up when wearing a Sainsbury’s full brief. As they fit nicely they are a lot nicer than any smaller brief. I am a size 14
