Hi,
Last night whilst showering I found a lump in my breast, I'm now worried sick.
I phoned GP this morning and can't get an appointment for 2 and a half weeks.
I was told to call back after 1.30 today if I thought it was an emergency but no guarantee that they would have an appointment. My head is all over the place.
Would you class this as an emergency?

I found a breast lump last Tuesday. I didn't think it was an emergency, but I discussed it with the receptionist and she booked me I to an emergency appointment.

I don't think you should wait 2.5 weeks.

How did the appointment go @afferal?

Hi, quick update
Doctor found another area in same breast that felt "lumpy" also but said she didn't think it was particularly nasty, but is referring me for a mammogram and consultant to be safe.
Feel a bit relieved but also nervous about mammogram.
Thank you for all the advice, so glad I went xx

Good Luck.

Hope it's ok. Glad you have a switched on doctor. Probably fine but better safe than sorry. Xx

I'm glad you saw a doctor and she is right to refer you for mammography just to be on the safe side. I'm sure you'll be fine!

I was thinking about what your husband said. Some husbands go into a blind panic about anything like that, yours may be one of those. He was probably scared witless, imagining all sorts, but he'll be reassured soon.

Thanks for the lovely messages 😍
@Rachelover40 my husband has been fantastic, obviously he's worried but is staying positive and keeping me calm x
