To wonder why women’s shirts are see-through?

Am I just not shopping in the right places? Nearly every single shirt I try on is flipping see-through!

This has been driving me crazy lately too. I have to wear white shirts for work and have only ever found cotton patterned shirts are thick enough, except I’m not allowed patterned shirts.

I don’t want to have to wear another top underneath my shirt, it’s hot out!

Even men’s white shirts are see through. They are designed to be worn with an under-top.

Flesh coloured bras aren’t a solution. That doesn’t hide my belly which can be seen silhouetted through the thin fabric, and if I’m wearing dark trousers with a long top I don’t want to see the trousers through the top. I want a long lean silhouette with a top that skims over my lumpy bits, it’s no good if it’s see through.

I have on today a 100% cotton oxford shirt from Jack Wills. You still still see my vest underneath. Which I had to wear so you can’t see my bra. I’m hot!
I will try Joules and Seasalt too.
And anticipate the return of colder weather and therefore, jumpers.

OP - honestly you can probably find thicker white shirts in autumn/winter.

My TM Lewin etc shirts were from 10 years ago - maybe they were thicker then?
