I live opposite a park. Some kids have started coming down from their language school every single night and they scream and shout right on the edge of the park opposite my house from 5ish till about half 10. Every night.
I'm 99% sure that's where they're coming from as I've seen them walking down from that direction with their goals and they're not speaking English. Certainly not a xenophobia type thing.. we get English kids loitering about drinking cider and fighting etc who are loads more annoying but this is on the odd occasion. I much prefer these kids; they don't litter or drink alcohol.
But this is every night - they are SO loud and they're right next to everybody's houses. It's too hot to close the windows, and it's taking me hours to get my 4yo to sleep. Even with the windows closed, you'd still be able to hear it. They're about 8 steps away, and they bellow.
So I sent an email to the school last night, asking if they could at least play up the other end of the park, where there are no houses (just car dealerships etc).
I also personally wouldn't let my young teenager hang out at that park till late at night, especially in a different country. There's loads of crime and drinking and dodgy characters that hang out there in the evening time. When I walk through it to take my DD to the playpark at the other end, there are countless beer/ vodka bottles, and even occasionally needles (always report these obv). I grew up in this area and was a pretty streetwise teen but me and all my friends knew not to go there late at night. I didn't go into this in my email but writing it down, I think maybe I should have?
AIBU to expect the school to at least tell them to go up the other end of the park? I know nobody has to do anything until after 11, and they're just kids enjoying the summer evenings, but they're so loud, and this is every single day. The language school has an outside area where they could play anyway, and be a lot safer? I can see on this website that placements have just begun, so this could go on the entire summer. Lived here 4 years and never experienced it before.
