Blame Norman Price

NerrSnerr · 12/07/2019 18:23

Your house was on fire?
There was a cat stuck on the roof?
Someone had trapped their head between bannister rails?

That's all I can think of.

NinjaInFluffyPJs · 12/07/2019 18:23

Log it with 101.
Just in case

iano · 12/07/2019 18:25

Our neighbours down the road had a fire last year and a week later firemen did the rounds suggesting they check and install fire alarms.could that be it?

Evidencebased · 12/07/2019 18:30

Oh shit
I hope this isn't what I fear.
I drove kids back from school one day, thought, wonder what fire brigade are doing in my road. Then got to corner.
Our house was on fire.

MyOpinionIsValid · 12/07/2019 18:32

Why would you log with that the fire brigade are outside?

Ask the fireman

FannyFifer · 12/07/2019 18:34

Did you phone 999?

Chista · 12/07/2019 18:36

The Fire Brigades initiative to offer free advice and free smoke alarms in homes is probably why you received a call from them

Al2O3 · 12/07/2019 18:40

They just want to make an appointment with you, in advance, for your next house fire. It is much more efficient if it is organised in advance rather than an impromptu combustion.

Al2O3 · 12/07/2019 18:47

Same reason as the other poster on the other thread.

If someone is in A&E for anything related to drugs or alcohol, I think they refer them to the fire service to check your home for fire risks?

QuestionableMouse · 12/07/2019 19:32

They rang my mam and dad to talk about smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms.

OpenYourEyes · 12/07/2019 19:34

Anyone over 60 in your house? They leave cards and call round in our area to fit free smoke alarms.

Florencenotflo · 12/07/2019 19:51

A home fire safety visit. They fit smoke alarms, run through escape routes, make recommendations about safety etc.

Assuming this post was prompted by a leaflet through your door!

bobstersmum · 12/07/2019 20:16

Ahem, are you busy with the firemen op?

Al2O3 · 12/07/2019 21:09

I think she is busy with their ‘hoses’

Number3or4 · 12/07/2019 21:24

Maybe someone accidentally locked a baby in a car and couldn't safely break a window to rescue the baby. So they called the fire service. It is a hot day today. That happened to dm neighbour visiting relative last year. Been told to be very careful with these electronic keys, they can lock the car by itself. Luckly there was no breakage needed as the firemen put a wedge on the front window and fished out the car keys. She had put the car keys on the front seat whilst doing baby's seat belt, who was sitting at the back. She closed this door and the door locked itself. Firemen, says it happens a lot, people trust the keys to much and others make silly mistakes like giving toddlers car keys to distract them whist putting the seat belt on. Then closing the door and hearing the door locking.
