To expect summer school uniforms to fit

My DD is starting school in September and we've been given a load of summer school uniforms by a friend (Matalan, Lidl, Next) none of them fit. She's very broad chested, poor thing, almost barrel chested (her ribs even flare out at the bottom). So we've gone and tried Morrisons, Asda, and Aldi. But absolutely all of them are too tight around the chest/underarms. She's not fat by any means, it's just her shape. Am I being unreasonable to expect kids uniforms to be more on the generous side, especially as mine never stops running around, climbing, cartwheels etc. Or is this just the new norm of mass manufacturing in China?

You'll have to go up a size. My son is 5 but tall and skinny! Even when he started in Sept at 4 I had to buy age 6 trousers (luckily with adjustable waist) due to his height.

His current jumpers are age 7-8 (bought in Feb became the 5-6 were too short on the arms!).

I find sainsburys pretty good on sizes.

YABU to suggest making things more generous. Things that fit DD in length are often quite baggy.

Obesity is a real issue in kids and clothes should be made for the size that a kid should be.

I am not saying that this is an issue with your DC - but size up is surely the option.

Shops are trying to make a profit, so will always sell sizes that will fit people and they will buy rather than sizes that people should be but aren't.

Well, the supermarket uniforms don't fit my child who is an average weight for height, so I don't buy them.
