Should ds be allowed apply sunscreen during activity

DS is finished school but doing various summer camps which we paid for.

Today he was at a sports camp so all activities outside. I sent him in with some sunblock to apply during the day if he needs it as he burns very easily. He's more than capable of applying it himself.

Today is really hot and sunny where we are so I asked him did he put on sunblock in the camp and he told me he wasn't allowed. AIBU to think a child should be allowed to put on sunblock if needed? I can understand if he wasn't capable of putting it on himself as I get that the volunteers are unable to assist but to say you can't put on sunscreen I feel is an issue. Thanks

Sounds like they thought he was asking for them to do it to me? Surely must be a mix up

BlueSuffragette · 11/07/2019 15:19

They should let him apply it. Have another weird with them.

That really doesn’t sound right - either he or they misunderstood. Talk to them.

How old is he? Is it a supervision issue? So they took all the kids out on the pitch and then he asked to go inside alone to do it?
I normally apply once in the morning. Get the one that lasts 8 hours.

Yes he should be allowed to. In the school where I work children can apply it at lunchtime if needed.

It depends on the logistics.
