Oo tricky. I think coyo is probably the most widely available.

gingajewel · 10/07/2019 19:36

Alpro soy do dairy free yoghurts and chocolate pots, there normally in the free from section.

Koko is really good, but can be difficult to get sometimes. Their milk is good too, but obviously not an infant milk.

Apro do coconut and almond yoghurt substitutes.

Sainsburys do an old brand coconut substitute.

Both tend to only be available in larger supermarkets.

Just be careful of the amount of sugar in them as some are very high in sugar.

Koko. It's nice and doesn't actually taste much like coconut at all.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 10/07/2019 20:28

Koko but it has bits in it which aren't always baby friendly.

My baby hurls with every tiny 'bit' in his mouth. 🙄

Also, don't use the alpro coconut one, that bad soya in it.

Or it did the last time I checked.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 10/07/2019 20:30

alpro coconut. With soyabean

Don't get that one OP

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 10/07/2019 20:31

Alpro Almond. With soyabean. or this one

Speaking as someone who's baby had multiple allergies, including milk, sometimes it is easier not to try and find a direct substitute but to just feed something else instead. Sorry if that's obvious but I spent a good few months obsessing about finding a "yogurt" or "cheese" he would eat but actually he didn't miss what hed never had and we got along better when we changed meals/recipes etc so we didn't need those things.

Thank you mums Smile

Koko. It has added calcium and coyo doesn't. Also koko is cheaper than most others. My dd can't tolerate soya either so this is our go to..

icecreamsundae32 · 10/07/2019 20:50

I used to make a yoghurt with Oatly cream and strawberries and bananas blended up as mine were allergic to dairy and soya x

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 10/07/2019 21:51

@BarbariansMum I couldn't agree more.

We are 8 years into the world of allergies and we still don't 'do' cheese and yoghurts.

I too, obsessed with finding an alternative. I I wish I just hadn't have worried.

Pleasegodgotosleep · 10/07/2019 22:03

We use KoKo occasionally but as others said you don't really need to find a substitution. They don't miss what they've not had! Only essential substitutions we need are veg spread instead of butter (we use stork for toast, in baking etc), coconut milk (for cereal and cooking) and Coconut Aminos instead of Soy Sauce (we eat a lot of chinese food). All other things we just go gor different brands or avoid. Have never been able to find a decent cheese substitute.

There is an app called Food Maestro where you can put in yours or your child’s allergies or choices (like vegan) and it tells you what foods (grouped in a list) are appropriate. Hope the helps!
