Just wondering if anyone has went through this before? Came off the implant in august last year and had the depo jag and was supposed to go back in november to receive it again but didn't. Since then my periods have been irregular to the point I'm going up to 3 months at a time without having them, my last period was the first week of april so after forcing myself to go to the doctors just to get checked out I had my bloods took and was told I had a slightly raised level of testosterone in my system and that they needed more bloods to be take between my 1st and 4th day of my next period ( if it ever comes). Has anybody ever went through this before and if so what was the outcome?

P.s. should also say me and partner have been trying to concieve since start if January

Raised testosterone is one of the symptoms of PCOS although could be other things too.

Has the Dr given any insight or follow up?

Nope he has not tbh when I spoke to him he was pretty convinced it was just my body coming off the jag and I was only told that if I didn't hear from him or have another period I was to go back :/

Ok, I have PCOS for me this presents as:

  • belly fat
  • very hard to lose weight (very very very, have to completely cut out carbs)
  • chin hair
  • irregular periods

When it was investigated medically I had

  • higher than normal testosterone levels
  • a couple of small cysts on one ovary

I had no treatment, was never offered despite diagnosis and I didn't know what to ask for.

Losing weight regulated my period, to do that I had to do cardio 5 days a week and completely cut down carbs, having only very dark rye/ multi grain products.

It took 3 years to conceive, but the first 2 years I had 3-4 month cycles so I wasn't ovulating during that time.

Once pregnant I got Gestational Diabetes and was on metformin and insulin, on metformin the weight dropped off and the chin hair disappeared. I was a stone lighter at the end of my pregnancy than I was at the beginning.

If you are diagnosed with PCOS I would recommend getting a metformin prescription.

My GP won't prescribe now as I am not TTC and not showing as diabetic.
