I never really encounter CF as I am a little isolated as a SAHM but here’s todays shocker.

My ex who I live with is away working in another country for a month so I’m by myself with DD so I thought the bright thing to do is give my spare keys to a friend of mine who’s flat is across the road Incase I get locked out.

Gave her let’s call her Pam and her OH Jim. So I gave Pam my keys on Friday and on Saturday I got a message that my good friend Kurt is coming to town for a couple of days so I said he can stay at mine. So on Monday when he arrived I thought I would ask Pam for my keys then Kurt can go out to move his car etc with bothering me.

So today Monday I messaged Pam to ask for the keys to give to Kurt she didn’t answer so I went out with Kurt to go to the supermarket when I get back Pam has sent me some frantic FB messages about the keys ending with that she’s dropped them off at the local bar for me to pick up 🤦‍♀️ I guess she thought I’d locked myself out rather than for my friend. (English is her second language)

I get back and get my DD to bed forgetting about the keys! Remembered 30 min before it shut, Kurt offered to go get them as he had to get stuff from his car. When he gets back he shows me the keys....

Instead of my hand made cat keychain which was soldered onto a bit of wood Pam’s OH Jim had replaced it with a lime green metal Eiffel Tower! Wtf

@Rachelover40 yeah I think she’s pretty annoyed that he won’t return it, like I said if he had said he loved it or something I probably would have given it to him. Also my Dd is pretty young I don’t really want her messing with this pointy poorly painted Eiffel Tower that why I loved the soft wooden circle I had with the cat engraving.

My main set of keys has a soft toy unicorn on 🙈 I really like cute things. So the replacement isn’t even my style. Pam pretty much said I should go over and tell him it’s not on...in a foreign language that I can’t speak that well 🤦‍♀️

Hey don't apologise, there's no need! It was a weird and cheeky fuckery thing to do and Jim should give your cat back. I like the sound of Pam though.

How bizarre that 2018SoFar should have had something so similar happen. I wonder if there is some shadowy keyring swapping cult....

I have a little set of tinkly bells on my keyring, if that's of any interest. They're very handy cos I can check my keys are in my bag just by shaking it. Not sure my neighbour across the hallway is entirely delighted to be alerted every time I enter or exit though. I do like her, but tough.

@LauderSyme haha Pam is amazing! I’m sure she gave him a choice word or two. Her catch phrase is to say WTF in this amazing dramatic voice.

Yeah ?I was surprised I wasn’t alone! Although hers seems like a worse swap!

@ASimpleLapoon I wish it was on level with the Mexican house their!

YANBU I think you should call 999 to report the theft of your lovingly handmade, irreplaceable priceless keyring.

Once Jim has been locked up for life then you should go for therapy to help you overcome your loss.

You should also tell your tale on social media, with sadface and a gofundme to buy a new keyring.

I used to work night shift at a care home it was just me and a another carer about 4am we hear this horrible horrible banging it’s so load we think it someone trying to break in (or one of our residents with dementia) so we search the building checking doors and rooms looking out every window.

The noise is pretty erratic so definitely man made or something, the house next door was the owners and had been broken into before and were on holiday so we called the senior who was related to the staff member I was working with. Turns out someone was house sitting but they could hear this really loud banging too.

We opened the front window to have a good look across the road and we see a hooded figure all in black trying to smash and break into the vicarage across the road (is vicarage the right word it was the vicars house?)

They were throwing rocks and physical kicking the glass windows and doors, so we called the police. So after two hours after we heard the noise the police (who were very quick!) knocked on the door and it turned out it was the vicar steaming drunk trying to break in as they had lost their keys which turned out was in the bike helmet by the wall.

The key ring swapping thing is highly suspect for some sort of clue to a secret swingers party jim wants you to partake in.

Pam is highly jealous of Jim’s antics and fetishes and needlessly bollocks him as a front when really she just wants her man all to herself

OP you should have said Pam used your keys to get in and then stole your cat. Or had a go on your vibrator.
