colleague sat on DH's lap

Not sure whether I am over reacting that one of DH's colleagues came and sat on his lap to say goodbye to him at end of a night out?

She went over to him as she was leaving (he was sat down) and instead of him getting up to hug her goodbye she sat on his lap and gave him a hug, then they spoke for about 30 seconds and she then patted him on the knee and left. I was across the room watching (she obviously didn't know I was watching but knew I was there

Am I being unreasonable to feel this was way too overfamiliar?

Drunk, someone did similar at my work once and she was reported to compliance for inappropriate behaviour Smile

arethereanyleftatall · 08/07/2019 19:08

I've got to be honest here, if I was absolutely hammered this might be the kind of thing I would have done in my single twenties. It wouldn't have meant anything more sinister was going on, just that I was pissed as a fart, and mortified the following Monday.

ShowMeTheKittens · 08/07/2019 19:08

She was either drunk or he was. Either way, how horrible, embarrassing and inappropriate.

dontdoxmeeither · 08/07/2019 19:09

Ditto @arethereanyleftatall

@CuriousaboutSamphire I think your talking about the cool wife thread from yesterday, I thought the same.

This is bang out of order, I would be raging and would of definitely let her know I was raging too.

We're going to remove this one shortly as we need to take a look behind the scenes. Thanks for the reports Flowers

SayWhatSayNot · 08/07/2019 19:12

Lolz

SerenDippitty · 08/07/2019 19:12

Only work colleague ever to sit on my lap was female. Then again I wouldn’t expect a male one to do it.

SerenDippitty · 08/07/2019 19:14

Very inappropriate behaviour described by OP though.

Thanks avocado

OMG ........she sat on his knee !!! That's a sackable offence for her & you should ltb as he's obviously cheating.

Never mind the fact they were both fully clothed, she isc15 years younger than him & knew you were there.

Some of you need to get a grip & join the human race. It's called being colleagues / friends.

Jeez. I'm glad I'm in my 50's & divorce. Don't think I could cope with what being in a relationship now means.

ohnoessexgirl · 08/07/2019 19:20

I'd be very pissed off about that too.

NewYoiker · 08/07/2019 19:42

Awful behaviour

sussexman · 08/07/2019 19:52

Of course not.

The kids (even the 6 foot 3 one!) sit on my lap and hug me. Not happening with work colleagues. That's way beyond the boundaries.

Cryalot2 · 08/07/2019 19:57

She wouldnt have sat anywhere for a while if it was me.
Would have slapped her .
It is way off line

gingerbiscuits · 08/07/2019 20:16

Hell, no!! That's bang out of order- regardless of her age! Way too over-familiar. I went batshit when one of hubby's colleagues straightened his tie & picked fluff off his jacket once at a wedding - cheeky b!tch!! To his credit, hubby batted her away & his face said it all! She was just oblivious & had the hide of a rhino. All the other women on the table fumed along with me!!!!

MrsTerryPratchett · 08/07/2019 20:25

I wonder if any of these young junior women ever become older senior women. Because I bet in workplaces where young women sit on old men's laps, it's rare.

Sceptre86 · 08/07/2019 20:43

It is over familiar. I would be annoyed.
