I had no idea where else to post this and I am so stuck I need as much traffic as possible!!

DP sister is getting married in a few months. As it's family we don't just want to give them money. They already have a home and is furnished/recently renovated and they're not into all that personalized "cutesy" stuff. We also don't want to get them a weekend break as they regularly go on wonderful holidays to maldives etc.

Our budget is around £200, we were thinking along the lines of whiskey decanter or a vase from anthropologie with other stuff thrown in to give an idea of the sort of things were looking at

Were struggling to find a gift that would suit both bride and groom

Please, please, please help! We are so stuck. We want something timeless that they can keep forever

Thank you in advance

A nice piece of art glass or small painting or an exotic plant or tree for the garden.

Vouchers that can be used for dates? I.e restaurants, fancy cinemas?

Not sure where they live but I've given vouchers for The Ivy or nice places in London before.

OP ask them what they may like - your ideal forever item may be immediate charity shop/ eBay fodder for them- you are approaching it backwards and from your point of loveliness

Personally I think most couples would prefer the cash. Unless they have a gift list...it's risky buying something like a decanter...which may just gather dust.

We got one for our wedding and it does just that. I might chuck it now you've reminded me of it.

If they already have everything they need i would give them cash or a voucher, most people don't use decanter's anymore

What about a class they can do together? Cookery or pottery or something they may not consider.
