Just watched a news item on this company. secondhome.io/london
Their main USP seems to be that workers bring their children in and share the workspace, so lots of cute clips of toddlers sitting on parents knew whilst parent is in a meeting. There is a crèche and quiet spaces for chiLoren to nap, which seems much more sensible, but is having toddlers playing in the work place conducive to a productive work environment? One of the women interviewed talked about it being great for working mothers as it solves the problem of childcare.
Nope, it doesn't solve the problem of childcare, it just means those women have to juggle both things at the same time - working whilst looking after children!
Is it just ridiculously pretentious ideology or AIBU?

And before anyone starts, yes, there were also fathers with their children there too doing the juggling.

No. I don’t want my kids near me when working. If they can see you the young ones will want to be with you. A crèche in the same building ok but I would not be able to get things done if they were within sight!

I can’t focus on my child and my job at the same time. My child will always come first. If my employer doesn’t mind that, well, they’re probably an idiot...

Plus, I bet it’s still women doing the childcare, with their co-workers resenting them and their husbands still able to focus on their work!

Doesn't sound ideal day to day. I don't think being in an office being ignored all day or managed with screens is going to be good for the child's development. A nursery or childminder that gives the child full attention is far better imo.

Good if offices could do it as an emergency when no other care is possible.

I'm a SAHM and some days I can't even get basic jobs like emptying the dishwasher done. I have two under 4. It's ludicrous to think you could do a days work and meet your kids needs. You'd be fobbing them off all day with screens.
