I went to a party recently for a 5 year old and a few of my friends also attended.
Present opening commenced and when the little girl opened the present we had bought (my friend knew it was from me) she said in front of everyone
“ oh that is a waste of time! We’ve had so many different types of ..... and they always break. I’m so over them”.
This is in front of the birthday girl and all the other guests. The birthday girls mum looked a bit shocked and thanked me for the gift and said how great it was.
For the record it is good quality and we have one ourselves so know it’s fun and has lasted ages. It’s also age appropriate.
Was my friend rude or am I being over sensitive? I didn’t say anything as I didn’t want to make a scene but I was annoyed.
