To get a cat?

I'm yearning for a cat, but the rescue place won't let us have one from there as our garden is small, we work full time and live on quite a busy road with a roundabout with 30mph speed limit).

It makes me sad, I know we could get one from a breeder or something but it's got me thinking, am I selfish to want a cat in these circumstances? We also wouldn't be able to put a cat flap in due to the doors.

Cat Protection said no based on the fact I live on a main road.

I ended up getting 2 cats at different times from friends of friends. Both indoor, both happy, healthy and loved.

I wish I knew at the time another local rescue will place cats in indoor only homes.

It's true that they have a better chance at longevity if they're kept indoors. Like zoo animals compared to wild animals. But if your options were living a normal lifespan with the lifestyle you currently lead or living to three hundred stuck in your house all the time, which would you choose?

I agree. I live in an apartment so my cats are indoors cats because it is impossible for them get outside, but this is the first time I have ever done that and I feel guilty about it.
