You really should choose a name,that flows easily into your surname,as some people choose a name that sounds odd for the surname.

I have a grandson named Jacob,which I like, but he seems to get called Jake by everyone except me.

Add the surname to it, then say it aloud. Not all combinations work, & you wouldn't want initials that could cause a snigger.

I loved the name Elijah for my sob, but my other half didn't Sad would either have been Elijah James or Elijah Thomas
