4 year old DD is ASD and is a handful. At home we have finally got to a good place with her room used as a place to go to cool down when things are getting too wild or agitated. However the moment we leave the house or go to my parents she flips and it is utterly horrendous. She won't do a thing I ask, she screams, she fights with DS, she runs off and is so so demanding. I can't cope with the behaviour anymore and I don't know How to get to the same level of sorted we have at home, especially at my parents, she just goes utterly manic and I don't know How to fix it :(

I end up sobbing far too often because I just don't know How to manage her behaviour when out and feel like everyone things im lying when I say how relatively calm she is both at home and with her childminders :(

Nope YANBU. Not at all.

You say she is relatively calm at home and childminders - How does she know she's going to childminders? Is she verbal? Do you use picture symbols? What strategies do you have in place so your DD knows she's going to a new place? Could these be adopted?
I hope you don't feel patronised. I'm sorry if you do. No doubt you've tried everything.
Are you getting any support? Thanks, Ginand Cake
