Basic biosecurity.

It's a bit rich of you to throw your eyes up at Waitrose use of plastic when you're buying produce that's been brought in from Zambia.

viques · 05/07/2019 11:33

it looks like a box tree moth caterpillar anyway. No biggy.

Has your google finger died? Box tree moths came into the UK less than 10 years ago , are already nationwide and have destroyed hundress of thousands of box plants.

Fortunately box isn't a food crop.

CornerofUpandDown · 05/07/2019 11:37

Return it to Waitrose and get double your money back. Job done.

jennymanara · 05/07/2019 11:38

Yes I did think if you found that caterpillar the chances were that it was already in the UK.

Flyinggeese · 05/07/2019 12:09

OP is this serious? Anyone buying peas from Zambia is really not concerned about the environment. Why the mock horror? Why even inform Waitrose - just deal with it!

CruellaFeinberg · 05/07/2019 12:12

hahaha...

oh you're serious???

Apolloboy · 13/07/2019 20:06

UPDATE...Well...aghast looking environment worried teenagers have been evicted & caterpillar is now moved into its own humidity Zambian environment bug home & Waitrose has given me £1000 towards bugs living expenses.

I thought you meant Zambia had a branch of Waitrose now

Teach your teenagers that sometimes, little green animals hang out on green leaves. Boy are they in a a harsh lesson when real life comes around! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I saw somewhere selling asparagus from Peru earlier in the year, in a part of Norfolk that has asparagus by the ton at that time of the year! Must be bought by the fools who drive by the farm selling lovely eggs at £1.50 a dozen on their way to buy eggs at the supermarket for twice the price!
