Had a crash week-my fault.

The other guy is with Admiral. Had a call today from Auxillis saying they are working on behalf of Admiral

They wanted to ask me for details of the crash when I refused thet said they would contact a solicitor

Am I right to think I should only give info to.my insurance company and that Auxillis should desl with them?

Auxillis aren’t an insurance company, they’re an accident management company. They like to get people into hire cars on credit...very expensive. You absolutely don’t have to deal with them direct. Redirect them to your insurance company if they contact you again, and if you haven’t already then do let your insurers know that Auxillis are involved.

Thanks!

Those were my thoughts

I'll ring More Than tomorrow.

Could Auxillis ever end up charging me?

We were given a hire car through Auxillis, through our insurers direct line, when we were hit and our car needed to go in to be repaired. I'm guessing admiral have a similar set up and are using them to give a car to the other person while there's is repaired.

In our case, Auxilis claimed the cost of the hire car back from the other drivers insurance. So I would imagine they will claim back the cost from your insurers, they won't go after you.

Auxillis are a CLAIMS management company. You are not obliged to use them under any circumstances, and I would strongly recommend that you DON'T. They often rope you in by suggesting that they will provide you with a 'courtesy' car, after your vehicle has been damaged in an incident that was not your fault.

It is NOT a 'courtesy' car; it is hire car, on a CREDIT HIRE AGREEMENT.YOU are the hirer, and Auxillis is providing you with credit. YOU could be liable for thousands of pounds, if the other driver's insurers refuse to pay out (and the hire costs are often excssive, leading to disputes,) and you have in any way not adhered to the miriad of conditions set out in the agreement you sign with Auxillis. That's why they take a debit/credit card number, before they leave the hire car with you.

The other driver - in practical terms his insurers, if he/she has one - is responsible. Here is a tip relayed from a barrister who specialises in these cases: DON'T use Auxillis, or ANY claims management company; telephone the other driver's insurers a (record the call - it is NOT 'illegal,') and politely ask for a courtesy car whilst yours is off the road. If they decline, simply tell them that if they haven't agreed to supply you with a courtesy car by the same time the day after, you will deal with a claims management company (such as Auxillis.) The car will be on your drive in no time at all. Then arrange repairs with a local company and gain approval from your insurer. These referrals to Auxillis are a scam: your insurer receives a big commission from Auxillis. I repeat - you are NOT obliged to deal with them.
