Does anyone have any experience of this?

I’m almost certain my three year old ‘has’ this. It has happened a few times now.

User147 I've messaged you back- my settings are playing up so let me know if you haven't received it

This used to happen to my son whenever he didn't eat dinner the night before. It was really weird vomiting, like almost gentle retching. Often it would happen in bed in the early hours. He has grown out of it now.

My daughter had a diagnosis of Ketotic hypoglycaemia she is under investigation to rule out any underlying metabolic conditions (which we’ve been advised is highly unlikely but just to be on safe side). She developed it at one but only had one bad episode with blood sugars. We never let her get hungry and she does seem to be outgrowing it now at 2.

I remember when I was pregnant it was suggested to me go eat something plain like a cracker as soon as I woke to stop vomiting. Maybe something like that might help or does he vomit on immediate waking.

My son had Ketotic hypoglycaemia and used to do this. He’s now 8 and (touch wood) appears to have grown out of it. It was horrendous and he was hospitalised a few times.
I would see your GP and get referred. You need a controlled fast in order to determine whether ketones are produced and to check insulin production as hyperinsulinism can be much more serious. There are Facebook groups that support with both conditions.
