Taking DD to smear test with me?

Lucylou321 · 01/07/2019 18:16

DD is 6 months and i no longer have childcare for when it's booked for this week. When I booked it 3 weeks ago this was all they could offer me in a 3 week period so I don't really want to have to cancel and delay it any longer.

She would be sat in her car seat. Sometimes she sits like an angel and sometimes she screams so it could go either way.

Am I going to piss the nurse off turning up with my baby?

Can you call and ask if it's ok?

NoSauce · 01/07/2019 18:17

No it’s fine OP, you’re not in there long, don’t worry.

YouCantBeSadHoldingACupcake · 01/07/2019 18:17

It'll be fine. I took ds to mine when he was about 4 months, he slept right through it

ReganSomerset · 01/07/2019 18:18

Fine, I did this. Bring her in her buggy and sit her so she can see you, she'll be fine.

GemSmith738 · 01/07/2019 18:18

I think the nurse should be fine, it never takes long and I'm sure they would rather you have your smear as they are so important

Littlebluebird123 · 01/07/2019 18:18

Depends how your smears usually go. I'm in and out. Have taken baby with me a couple of times when I've had to. Wasn't a problem. Toddler on the other hand, definitely wouldn't. :)

SaveFerris1 · 01/07/2019 18:19

I'm a nurse in a gp surgery and this wouldn't bother me at all!

takemetomars · 01/07/2019 18:20

Practice nurse and smear taker here, take your child, it really isn't a problem at all

thundermum · 01/07/2019 18:20

Sat with my mum, she’s also a nurse in a GP surgery and agrees with SaveFerris, said it wouldn’t bother her at all

formerbabe · 01/07/2019 18:20

It's absolutely fine.

Powerplant · 01/07/2019 18:22

I had to do the same years ago my baby daughter had to lie on the couch with me😮 whilst my 20 month old son was looked after by the drs’ receptionist. It’s what I had to do as I had no one to look after them😊

sodonesooverit · 01/07/2019 18:23

It's fine, crack on

seven201 · 01/07/2019 18:31

I've taken my screamy baby with me before. The nurse won't mind.

Lucylou321 · 01/07/2019 18:45

Thanks everyone you've put my mind at easeSmile
