So, OK I might be being a grumpy asshole because of all the wine I drank last night, and the fact I didn't get home till 3am but.....neighbours kids were out in the garden this morning at just got 8o clock! Screaming, shouting and squealing in that loud squealy way little girls have.

Is this not a tad early for a Sunday morning?! Or am I just being a moody hungover prick

Workmen are allowed to work from 8am so kids are allowed to play outside then too.

saoirse31 · 30/06/2019 16:51

8 00 am is fine for kids to be out playing.

ChorleyFMcominginyourears · 30/06/2019 16:51

I'd rather be woken by screaming kids than the 3 randon grown men that were drugged up and or drunk shouting and fighting at the top of their lungs at 06:45 this morning and took around 40 minutes to pass by far enough that we couldn't hear them anymore

JustTwoMoreSecs · 30/06/2019 16:54

7am : rude to make noise
8am : kids playing quietly, talking, laughing, but I would expect parents to keep to volume down.
From 9am : kids can be loud.

At least these are my expectations Smile

I don't let mine out before 9 as feel any earlier is unfair on the neighbours.

RaininSummer · 30/06/2019 17:23

Too early. I don't want to be woken up until I'm ready on Sunday as every other day involves alarms and earlyness.

HandsUpHere · 30/06/2019 17:26

My NDN's DGC were sent to play in NDN's garden every weekend to allow their parents sleep in. Hmm I worked all week and off at weekends. I was very pissed off at being disturbed every weekend. It went on for weeks. I was on the verge of having a word with my NDNs when it stopped happening. My NDN told me she told her DD to stop sending her DC over because they didn't want to be woken early in the morning. I secretly did a jump for joy on the inside. Smile

Coral13 - I thought noisy workmen were actually not allowed to work at all on Sundays .

CitadelsofScience · 30/06/2019 17:55

Shock I was a terribly mean mother then, I wouldn't let mine out until 10am on a Sunday.

cadburyegg · 30/06/2019 18:20

YANBU i don’t let mine play out until 9am weekdays, 10am at weekends

Gwenhwyfar · 01/07/2019 08:08

I'm so shocked people think it's OK to have lawn mowers on at 9am!

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 01/07/2019 11:07

YABU about 8am. I bet you wouldn't break a sweat about sitting in your garden with a few friends enjoying some wine, bit of music etc at 9pm when those kids want to sleep. Why should their needs always be trumped by the schedules of adults out drinking til 3am? I struggle to keep my toddler in til 8am on a sunny day in summer and kids SHOULD be outside getting fresh air & exercise.

However, i don't let mine shout/scream/squeal at that time. I tell him not everyone wants to hear him at that time. So YANBU about the noise, if it really was loud & persistent.
