To play music really loudly at 6.30am

.... only because my neighbors (I am in a flat) have been having a party.... which seems to include a drum kit ... since about 6pm?

I’ve asked them nicely to turn it down a bit - and got dog’s abuse/threatened by the residents. They moved in three weeks ago, and have had a lot of loud music / like 5/7 nights. It usually stops by 11 though.

I called 101 (also environmental health ooo here), and they said at 12.15, saying police would attend. It’s understandably not top priority, but I really want to sleep. It’s like they’re in the room. Yelling, music, banging. It’s awful.

I really want to get up early and get them back. 😤🤯🤬

Can’t until 9 am on a weekend here.
I would get up at 9 am and vacuum, empty bottles loudly into recycling bin under their window.
Music on loud to vacuum and sing out of key, at the top of your voice.
Doing this earlier punishes other neighbors who were also subjected to the late night music.

I'd absolutely get up and make as much noise as possible. Or turn everything you have that makes noise on full blast and leave for the day.

Sadie789 · 30/06/2019 01:47

Wait until they’re trying to sleep ie 9 or 10am then fill your boots.

Tavannach · 30/06/2019 01:54

No help just now but contact the council on Monday and ask for advice. There must be a limit on the amount of noise they can make. I'd also call 101 again, but I am very noise sensitive.

Well... the police came at 2.45am, and I managed to sleep until 11am, so no 6.30am noise. I did sweep up all the dropped cigarette ends in the stairwell, and post them through their letterbox, as I’m passive aggressive like that.
I have the landlord’s email address, so I’m tempted to email him. It’s a private rental.
I am already pretty fed up with them, so would love them to get chucked out.

Do it. Get them chucked out, why should you have to suffer?

Weenurse · 06/07/2019 03:45

Did you contact the land lord?

DogbertDogglesworth · 06/07/2019 03:58

Record a loud dog barking and play it LOUD on a loop while you're out for the day.
Then email their landlord.

JAMMFYesPlease · 06/07/2019 04:51

Definitely email the landlord. I rented a room in a house share with party people. While I was away on a course, the landlord got emails from various neighbors about their parties. Fortunately, the landlord knew i was away but the others were warned. Not long after they were kicked out after more complaints for parties. A good landlord will deal with it.

When I was little and the neighbours would have parties, mum would send us out into the garden very early to play...
