To buy some cigarettes?

Dh and I quit smoking 5 years ago. We had none for 3 years then decided to have a few on holiday. Pack of 20 lasted us a week and we didn't touch them for 12 months until our next holiday. We enjoy it and don't have any problems stopping when we get home.

We got home yesterday from our latest holiday. I'm due on and have raging pmt, dh suggested I go and buy some smokes to ease my mood and call it a holiday extension.

Good idea or not? Fwiw I don't think there'll be a problem stopping again, would 100% never smoke in front of dc and would just have a few when they're in bed. Wibu?

No OP, don’t do it. I’ve done this so many times. ‘Just one fag on a night out’ I’ll say, then I’ll have two fags next time. Before I know it I’m back on the rollies and chuffing away like a chimney again. It really is a slippery slope.

Nutkin123 · 27/06/2019 23:15

Stick to your ecig and you'll be fine! It's really hard quitting especially if you've been on holiday, but it really is a slippery slope. Stick to your ecig and you'll be fine!

Oops, sorry, that’ll teach me to RTFT.

Well done for resisting OP. No smelly hands and hair and coughing in the morning.

SpitefulBreasts · 27/06/2019 23:28

I should have added that I say it looks like I've stopped. Self brainwashing is the way to go, well it seems to have worked for me.
The very best of luck op, I hope you manage to stop.

Sofasurfingsally · 27/06/2019 23:45

You'll regret it, without a doubt.

Surfingtheweb · 27/06/2019 23:49

Stop the e cig!! You are addicted to nicotine. Go cold turkey & in 2 weeks you will find it much easier. 100% though, do not smoke. I can't say what I do for a living as it would be totally outing, but I can say that doing what I do, I would not smoke.

Chloe9 · 27/06/2019 23:57

I'm forever lapsing on the fags so I keep an e cig on me so that I'll not give in.

Much lesser of two evils.

Well done for resisting @DaanSaaf

Well done for not succumbing, I bet you would’ve felt guilty afterwards anyway 💪🏻

Go to bed grumpy and wake up tomorrow and get a grip. You're doing well. ::)
Ten years and I still love the smell.

DaanSaaf · 28/06/2019 13:32

It passed and I'm happy to say I didn't have any.

Out of interest @MNHQ, why have i been deleted when the poster calling me a twat still has their post up??

I think you should consider giving up the e-cig as well. I think they are a really useful tool to cut down and quit smoking but at the end of the day, all it's doing now is keeping you addicted to nicotine.

DaanSaaf · 28/06/2019 14:08

My ecig is very low nicotine, I tried nicotine free for a while but couldn't do it. I'm on 1.5 mg
