To ask for help - I'm pregnant!

Been TTC for 15 years. Had fertility treatment over 3 years ago which thankfully worked. Last month went back to clinic and paid deposit to start treatment for a sibling. Just waiting for period to arrive then have scan and start drugs. Period 3 days late, it's never late. 4 tests later - they are definitely all positive.

But... I need help with thinking of a good way to tell hubby. I don't want to just tell him, and as the only other time we got a +ve test was after treatment when we were told to take a test at a certain time I want to do something a bit special this time. I know it's all still very early but this has never ever happened to us and I just can't believe it!!!!

You could make him a card and put it in an envelope and get dd to hand it to him:

Front Congratulations♥️

What did you do in the end?

feathermucker · 26/06/2019 20:58

Lovely to read.

Hope he was surprised

Scottishgirl85 · 26/06/2019 20:59

Very similar happened to us. I just asked him to shut his eyes and hold out his hands to pop the tests into. The look on his face will be forever ingrained in my mind and still brings tears to my eyes. Congratulations!

So the first thing he always does is make a cup of tea when he gets in. I was ill today (I get really bad hormone related upset stomach) and I now know why, so when he came him I said I'd figured out what had made me ill and he should grab a cuppa and we could have a chat. I'd put the test right in front of the kettle. Then the bloody bastard said he didn't want tea, he wanted water! After insisting I knew better and he definitely wanted tea, he spotted it and burst out laughing for ages. He was very shocked, as am I but obviously super happy.

Have you got any bread buns?

Put the buns in the oven and ask him to check if the tea is ready?

bewilderedhedgehog · 26/06/2019 21:28

Nothing to add, except to say how delighted I am for you. What brilliant news, and congratulations to both of you xx

Mostunexpected · 26/06/2019 21:31

I know you've already done it and congratulations but when I told my family I was pregnant with my second I put a t shirt on DD saying "I'm going to be a big sister". We didn't tell her what it said though!
