if I use cloth nappies and want anyone who looks after DS to use them too?

Just wondering really, no one else has ever really looked after DS but he's nearly 1 and I'm going back to work 2 days a week so he'll be going to a childminder. Is it unreasonable to expect them to use reusables as well? And what about if family members baby sit?

Six years ago when I needed a childminder for ds who was then in cloth nappies, I did find a childminder who was fine with that, but there were others who were probably put off. All the childminder had to do was empty any solid waste down the loo, and put the cloth nappy in the plastic bag I provided. I was using a nappy laundry service at the time.

Our nursery didn't have any problem to change DD in her cloth nappies and even suggested to wash them for me... I didn't want to give them extra work for doing it, but they alway rinsed them and put them in a bag each end of the day, and if the nappies were too dirty, they did wash them. DD is now potty trained, they wash her clothes if necessary!!! Dh and i have used cloth nappies since DD was born so I wouldn't have seen the point of using a nursery or CM who would'nt have accepted to change cloth nappies. If you use nappy liners, and provide bags to put the nappies, i don't see why it would be a problem... My mum loved us coming to stay with her with washable nappies, she hanged them all on the washing line wanting the neighbours to notice one of her grandchild was at home!!!!
