About washing machine repair?

I have repair cover on my washing machine. A couple of weeks ago it started to make a loud squeaky noise whilst spinning. So I booked a visit in, today was first available slot.

On Friday I tried to use machine and it wasn't spinning. I contacted the company to report this issue (with the intention that they would update the booking and ensure the necessary part was available when someone came out).

You've guessed it. When the bloke turned up he had no idea and the part will take 7 days to obtain. During that time I will have to wash everything by hand (which I've already spent all weekend doing).

Not only that but he told me as there is 'not enough space' to repair the machine where it is I need to move it myself into my living room 12ft away.

When I said I cant physically move it myself he said couldn't my partner do it (don't have one) or my parents/ siblings (both dead thanks and I'm an only child). Bottom line was he won't move it so I have to. Wtf?

AIBU to think this is pretty fucking poor service?

I've had my washing machine since I moved in 12 years ago and never had an issue. If you've had to call them before in five years it sounds shite. What brand is it?

I have a cheap Beko one that I bought on offer. I thought it would be a bit pants but actually it's great and would buy again. Friends and family who have the same one are happy with them as well. When my fridge freezer packs in I'm going to replace it with a beko one. I promise that I do not work for them, just like my washing machine.

Current one is a Hotpoint.
I have bought a new one and shoved it on credit card. Life is too bloody short to be upset and bullied in my own home.
Replacement is arriving on Sat so just have to hobble on until then. I have made a formal written complaint to Hotpoint and D&G but I won't be holding my breath.
I have also cancelled my plan and will save the £8 monthly cost towards the next washer.

I won’t insure with D&G again. They replaced our integrated dishwasher by dumping a new dishwasher in the middle of our kitchen, but said they couldn’t fit it due to the model (Bosch so hardly rare). So we had a broken dishwasher still installed, and a new one in packaging acting as a kitchen island. Then D&G phoned up the next day asking if we were happy with it. Well we don’t know do we. They seemed really confused that it wasn’t installed and kept sending me questionnaires over the next few weeks. Shower of shite.

I got the predictable call asking if I want to take cover out on the new washing machine...I said no, and explained about today's events.
Hopefully they won't ask me again.

Now I just have to scrape by til Sat. The handwashing is fine(ish), it's the wringing out I struggle with.
