Sorry, this is not an aibu but I’m struggling to find books that my daughter enjoys reading for herself. Wondered if anyone could recommend anything?

She’s into football and horse riding. She’s also pretty girly and into fashion.

She loves me reading to her but not to herself. At the moment I’m reading her Harry Potter. She does enjoy the David Walliams books. Any tips welcome!

The Lauren St John "White Giraffe" series.
Katherine Rundell " The Explorer", "Rooftoppers", "Wolf Wilder".
Any of the Frank Cottrell Boyce books especially "Sputnik's guide to life on earth" and "The amazing broccoli boy".

I love a good old fashioned mystery/detective fiction and a random amazon recommendation lead to the discovery of the Scarlett & Ivy Series by Sophie Cleverly. Now I don’t make a habit (yes I do!) of reading books for children but I didn’t have anything else to read so stuck with the first one. I’ve read the whole series and even as a adult I’ve actually really enjoyed them. They don’t condescend and even as an experienced reader of detective fiction, k haven’t always seems the twists and turns the stories take. I’ve also read Katherine Woodfine’s Sinclair Mysteries & Taylor & Rose Series and Robin Stevens’ Murder Most Unladylike series. Other than being the same genre, the also have in common that they are set in the early 20th century. They all have very strong female leads, who aren’t all starry eyes about boys, and they are actually really good stories with some really insightful moments.
Another I highly recommend in The London Eye Mystery, a more modern book by Siobhan Dowd. It’s really interestingly told through the eyes of a boy on the ASD spectrum. Robin Stevens wrote a sequel (Dowd passed away and Stevens was a fan) called The Guggenheim Mystery.
I’ve bought most of the above as gifts for birthdays of some my sons friends and they’ve gone down a storm - with the parents that read them aloud and the kids.

Begone the Raggedy Witches by Celine Kiernan. The first in the Wild Magic trilogy. (the 2nd: The Little Grey Girl is out already, part 3 to come next year)

www.amazon.co.uk/Begone-Raggedy-Witches-Magic-Trilogy/dp/1406366021/ref=sr_1_1?s=gateway&keywords=the+raggedy+witches&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1561402775&sr=8-1

also how about Swallows And Amazons (although it's probably a tad old fashioned).

@Gardenersnaptime she’s average at reading / writing and exceeding at maths. She reads fluently but isn’t actually listening to what she’s reading imo. I’m not sure if she’s bored / lazy / disinterested or genuinely struggling. I’m going to try the suggestions and see how she gets on!

Thanks everyone. Appreciate it!
