To feel smug AF I've just woken from a solid 13 hour sleep 🤭

I have literally just woken up at 12.30pm after going to bed at 10.00pm last night and now DH is stropping around huffing and puffing like a 14 yr old Kevin n Perry tribute act. We're at our Caravan for the weekend and he went out yesterday afternoon to visit his friends around 4ish, leaving me on my own. (Not that I was bothered by that) I had a lovely evening, walked the dogs, made a lovely pasta salad for myself and had 2 glasses of wine. He text at 9.30 to say he was on his way home what's for supper and I replied I've boiled the kettle, you can have a pot noodle GrinGrin and buggered off to bed. I really couldn't be arsed. I now feel as smug as a smug thing in a world of smugginess as that's the first time in donkey yonks I've had more than 5 or 6 hours uninterrupted sleep. And I don't feel an ounce of guilt for it.... Time for brekkie me thinks.Brew

Sounds lovely! I had zero sleep lastnight with arthritis in my back playing up. Is your caravan by the sea? The sea air usually helps me sleep like a log. Very good for you, a bit of self care. To hell with stroppy boy.

Good for you, 13 hours is amazing, you must have needed it!

SilverySurfer · 23/06/2019 16:08

I'm jealous. I'm happy if I sleep for three hours without waking. I was saying to a friend that what I need is to be put into a coma for a year which should just about catch up on all the sleep I've missed. It would be amazing to wake up and not feel tired.

PicaK · 23/06/2019 16:12

Gosh I envy you so much.

Sexnotgender · 23/06/2019 16:15

I have a 4 month old, jealous doesn’t begin to cover it...

YABU for not allowing me to say YANBU via the new cute AIBU buttons.

I’m so very jealous. Menopause and anxiety have robbed me of the ability to sleep more than two or three hours at a time.

It seems like you both have had the opportunity to do your own thing. He is being a baby. Pay him no mind.

Jealous.

I remember waking up when DS was about 8 months old and felt odd... and then realised it was because I had slept all night, DS had slept through. He was tiny and feeding every couple of hours and then two and a half hours and then three hours and this was the first night he’d not woken up for a feed.

Oh wow, you have a caravan, ( I would like one ) and you had all that much sleep, another wow,as I have chronic insomnia. And you are lucky,as you have the gumption to disregard a sulky and huffy man ha ha, great stuff, and also, you have your dogs for company, another wow, I have three cats, and they probably wouldn't like a caravan holiday, even if I had a carava

Not saying anything about your husband,, he can just eat his pot noodles and go for a run so to speak.

Redcrayons · 23/06/2019 16:26

I'm so jealous. And in a caravan! Last time I went camping I didn't sleep at all for the first night. I'm such a light sleeper, the sound of someone coughing in the next town will wake me.

My watch is telling I had 8 hours but it's lying because I was definitely awake at 6am so that's 6 hours.

Queenoftheashes · 23/06/2019 19:28

@Blankspace4 entirely self inflicted Grin I survived though and dragged myself across London for a roast - hope for a long sleep tonight!

Greywalls12 · 23/06/2019 19:51

Ughh I'm so jealous :( i used to sleep so much, now 11 week old DS feeds 2 hourly over night, i get max hour and a half between feeds, usually sleep about 5 hours a night.
Cannot wait for the day i get to have a massive long sleep Grin
