I abu posting here but frankly I don't care anymore. I'm exhausted and just want some sleep :-( if anyone could tell me what's going on I'd really appreciate it!

I'm 39 weeks. Meant to be having an induction on Monday but not too keen so consultant agreed we would try a sweep on Friday and give baby a chance until Monday to come by him/herself. Had the sweep, uncomfortable after with cramp type pains. I was 2cm dilated I think at that point.

Yesterday morning (Saturday) my plug started coming out (sorry tmi) in clumpy bits this has continued all day.

At 2am this morning I had to get up out of bed as couldn't sleep. Baby has been wiggling about like mad and I keep having period like pain on and off. It's hard to tell if my stomach is hardening with the pain as it's quite solid now anyway (not much space!) but if I had to guess I'd say yes it is. So every time I fell asleep either the baby would wake me or the discomfort would. I'd say the pains are every half hour or so and last about 30 seconds/a minute. My back is killing me. I feel like I need a poop (sorry!) but can't seem to go and I just am fed up and uncomfortable :-( :-(

Anyone got any insight?

I'm aware even this post is probably pointless as no one can physically examine me etc but it's taking my mind off of things.

Also dh is snoring so badly I just completely lost my rag and snapped at him so now I feel a complete cow too.

If the plug is out , your pains have stated and you are 39 weeks it’s looking viable !
Good luck 😉

Yinyen · 24/06/2019 06:54

Definitely sounds like it with my third it went exactly like your describing. I also was the moodiest cow ever and lost it with DH like never before or since!
The two things that trip it into full blown labour were: A long walk (around our block again and again so never too far).and (this sounds weird but totally worked) blowing up balloons as it made me bear down.
Good luck!

I had ds at 39 weeks and it sounds similar. Even down to the pets babysitting you!

Catface (my rescue tabby cat baby girl) snuggled right up to me while I was attempting to sleep and was like me shadow the entire time up to the point we went to hospital.

When ds arrived and Dh went home she sat in/on my spot on the bed and purred. Dh said she was also wandering about looking for me and meowing. We’d had her for just over a year at this point and the first 6 m for her were tough as she’d previously been feral.

She’s been like mine and ds’ protector/supervisor ever since.

Good luck op! I bet when they examine you you'll be a bit more dilated if you were 2 the other day. They may just break your waters and leave the pessary part out of the induction process xxx

Emelene · 24/06/2019 07:14

Good luck OP! Xxx

CuppaSarah · 24/06/2019 07:17

When I went to my induction with dd2, the woman two cubicles along came in for hers saying things were getting started on their own. She was right, she was in the very early stages and slowly progressed throughout the day.

But even if you have an induction today, try not to worry. I can honestly say my induced labour was the best one by a lot! Genuinely enjoyed it. Good luck today!! I'm sure it will all go great and you'll be holding your baby soon.

jaseyraex · 24/06/2019 07:21

Aw good luck OP! If you are in labour, it should help your induction along a bit. Hope all goes well.

Justwantsleepnow · 24/06/2019 08:02

Thanks! Trying not to get too excited as still having crampy pains etc but have managed to sleep...now starting to get to the point where I don't think I can sleep haha but manageable :-) just like period pain tbh. Can't really say if my uterus is contracting as like I've said before my stomach has been rock hard for the last few days anyway (this and I've been drifting in and out of sleep 🤦🏻‍♀️)

Eeeek! Focusing on the fact that even if it isn't labour something is definitely happening and that takes me one step closer :-) going to have a quick bath before I get ready for hospital :-)

That's how mine started too :) Plug first, then period pain for a while, then it slowly ramped up. Best of luck OP!

Justwantsleepnow · 24/06/2019 11:31

Well pain has stopped and I'm sat at the hospital with dh on the ward 😩 no bed yet to start induction so having to wait and been told maybe going to be tomorrow 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ If it is going to be tomorrow I'd rather just go home and come back but they seem keen to keep me here. 😩😩😩😩

OP posts:
S1naidSucks · 24/06/2019 11:50

Oh no, OP! Hopefully they’ll get you a bed soon.

Justwantsleepnow · 24/06/2019 13:54

No bed :-( they have said delivery suite is really busy today :-( there was talk of transferring me to their sister hospital but don't really want to do that! So now I'm sat waiting for the consultant to come round and examine me to see if we can go and come back tomorrow :-( got tiny cramps but nothing major.

😩😩 I've waited nine months (actually more) you'd think I'd be able to wait a few more days!

ThePhoenixRises · 24/06/2019 21:29

How did it go with the consultant?

Justwantsleepnow · 24/06/2019 22:01

Agreed we could come home so here we are again 🤦🏻‍♀️ Back again tomorrow at 9! He has now decided to have another scan tomorrow as well to just check babies size ?? Bit worried about this...I know he/she has been slightly bigger the whole way through but now it seems like it could be more of an issue than they thought?

I asked why I needed a scan if I'm coming in to be induced anyway and he didn't really give an answer was just talking about knowing all our options? Dh thinks it could be c section? Surely they'd have mentioned to me if they are now worried I won't be able to deliver? How big can a baby be 😩

Bit worried tbh...don't feel like we are getting the full story of what they are thinking.

OP posts:
ThePhoenixRises · 25/06/2019 17:36

How did the scan go?

Justwantsleepnow · 25/06/2019 17:48

Scan was fine 😊 big baby but not horrendously lol just waiting for a bed (they've promised we will have one by 7!) and then they'll start me off 🤞

ThePhoenixRises · 25/06/2019 19:15

Great news, glad things can finally get going for you.

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 25/06/2019 19:16

This was me 6 months ago.
39 weeks, days before my induction had a sweep. Except it was a viscous sweep and it broke my hind waters.

THEN I had 6 hours of pathetic contractions every 2 minutes and it turned out that my previously perfect positioned baby had turned back to back the second my waters broke and wasn't pushing on mu cervix. Hence the crappy contractions.

Anyway, ended up with syntocin drip. Took 6 hours to turn then 6 hours of dilation and bang he was out.

I had an epidural and felt fuck all the whole time.

Easiest birth out of the 3. But a really boring one.

Good luck OP.

Snowy81 · 25/06/2019 19:23
