To buy a shopping trolley bag?

I’m 38, no health problems. WIBU to buy a shopping trolley bag thing to carry my food about a mile home from the shops?

They just seem like such a practical thing, but I only ever see older people with them. Will my family disown me through embarrassment?!

I second the Hoppa recommendation. Mine's 12 years old now and still going strong. You need wheels that are sturdy enough to be bumped up and down kerbs/steps/buses.

I use a suitcase!

I’ve got a lovely one from ikea which I use all the time - they’re so useful! I don’t feel like an old lady when I use it, even when paired with a poncho.

I used one to take my guitar to school. So much easier to protect it on the bus. It was plain black, my granny gave her cast off but I sewed some band patches on it and it totally rocked!

I used to have two, one for the shopping and one for the beach. Fabulous things, definitely get one, they're life changing

I have a nice basic one and I use it all the time. I can buy more groceries at a time and get them home, so it saves me trips. Especially useful in bad weather! Think of it as better for the environment!

Be careful long term. A friend has totally buggered her hip and knee with years of the shopping trolley of the style you pull along, and doctors confirmed this was the cause.

I have had temporary problems with mobility and pitched up at GP and physio with airport-style cabin luggage trolley as I wanted to shop. They recoiled like Superman on Kryptonite, saying the weight had to go somewhere so be very careful to vary the weighting load.

Neither of them had anything useful to say about how you carry weights as a woman on her own and without a car. Hmm
