3 years ago a friend of mine that I've known for years died. She was riddled with brain tumours for a long time, she ultimately died of breast cancer at 29 years old.

She left 5 children behind.

I've just found out that the youngest, who's six, has weeks to live as he's dying of cancer.

What the fuck is wrong with this world?!

I'm so so sorry. There is no rhyme or reason to it. It's just heartbreaking and hard to bear 💐

I am so sorry, it’s utterly shit Flowers

OMG, I am so so sorry, that is truly awful. I often wonder why these things happen too and I don't think there is an answer. Everybody either knows somebody (or multiple people) who have had cancer and/or have had it themselves. I'm so sorry about your friend, but my God, it's heartbreaking to hear that this is also happening to her young child. In moments like these it really feels like the world makes no sense. Flowers

It is tragic that a 29 year-old and a 6 year-old should lose their young lives to cancer. My heart goes out to their family and friends and to you OP. Flowers
As your friend had Breast Cancer at such a young age I wonder if she may have close family with it and maybe had the BRAC gene. Life seems so unfair sometimes.

There must be something that we are doing - ingesting, eating or drinking or breathing that accounts for the prevalence of cancer. We are told smoking, alcohol and eating red meat is responsible for some cancers but what the heck causes it in a 6 year-old boy?

Thanks everyone x

I have an almost 5 year old and I saw a photo of her earlier (she's at nursery) and just burst into tears.

My friends oldest dd who was 11 at the time of her mum passing, was crying on me convinced that she was going to get cancer too and I remember saying that it just isn't going happen. Little did I know that her beautiful little brother was going to die from it too. I feel so sorry for his brothers and sisters that have to see this twice.
