Neighbours dumping rubbish in our skip

Really need to know if I'm over reacting here!!

Currently undergoing renovations so we have a skip in our front garden- mainly full of building materials, as we are in the final stages. We've noticed a few things that we didn't dump appearing in the skip over the past few weeks, mainly large cardboard boxes- but last night, someone dumped an old video and DVD player. We have cctv and found the footage of the guy doing it. He's obviously a neighbour, as he came down the road on foot wearing flip flops.

I'm mainly annoyed about the fact that he or no one else has asked if they could dump rubbish- DH and I would always have said yes! But it doesn't sit right with me that CF neighbours are sneaking onto our property at night to dump!!

I have been tempted to put the photo of him dumping his rubbish on our local FB page and finding out who he is so I can put it on his doorstep, but I don't think I can be that petty/ definitely don't have the balls!

I know it happens a lot but it’s still annoying. A friend of mine had new decking put in her garden. One morning her husband went to work without her as she was having a day off. When she got up, her neighbour (who obviously thought the house was empty as the car was gone) was sat out on her decking with a mug of coffee!!!! I just don’t understand some people.

If it were me I’d print off a photo of the man from your CCTV footage and stick it on the skip with a notice saying CCTV in operation. Might make him or anyone else think twice.

Oh please do put it on your local Facebook group with cctv footage - go on!

In Northern Ireland we don't so much have a problem with people dumping stuff INTO the skip, but rather with taking stuff OUT to burn on the July bonfires. It really is a faff trying to arrange a skip far enough away from July that it won't be raided!
