I work in a small, quite young company (I am the eldest one there by a good margin and most of the employees are in their 20s). One of the bosses has no people skills - she is abrupt, impatient and quite often rude; however she saves the bulk of her bad temper for a couple of staff that she manages (both young, very good at their jobs, but just take her abuse), talking to them in a derogatory manner in front of clients several times. It's massively unprofessional and in a larger company she would be hauled over the coals by HR, but as this company is tiny we don't have this.
WIBU to bring this up when I meet with the other boss? I hate seeing her treat the other staff like this and hearing the excuses that this is 'just her way 'and to 'ignore it'. My job isn't HR but I do work with the other boss and to be honest am the only one who would speak bluntly to him about this. This is further complicated by the fact that the 2 bosses used to date and could potentially get back together. I would hope he'd have a serious word and confront her about her behaviour. If it's not addressed I feel that it'll end up with valuable staff leaving or in a grievance and I guess in which case we'd have to get an external HR to deal with?
