Babysharkdododont · 18/06/2019 21:32

More what?

AyBeeCee10 · 18/06/2019 21:32

Who is they? Your post is so random and vague.

PinkGlitter123 · 18/06/2019 21:34

Work, sorry

Stacey1992 · 18/06/2019 21:35

What’s the chronic disease and what job do they do?

Treaclesweet · 18/06/2019 21:35

Who is they?

Queen of Sheba? Cats mother?

AyBeeCee10 · 18/06/2019 21:36

Pulling teeth here. What is your actual question? What should work be doing more of and why?

Ylvamoon · 18/06/2019 21:37
Biscuit
Vibiano · 18/06/2019 21:37

Depends on how well they are, might seem fine on 23 hours but get overtired and Ill if they did more.
More hours might not be possible, if their contract is part time.

Absofrigginlootly · 18/06/2019 21:37

No. Work isn’t everything, especially if they have a chronic illness.

Unless they’re in financial straits.

But this is MN where work is more important than anything else on the planet

Houseonahill · 18/06/2019 21:37

Depends on whether or not they need the money surely? Confused

Whynotnowbaby · 18/06/2019 21:38

Can they afford to live on current salary? Does chronic disease allow them to work any more than they currently are? Do they want to do more? Why do they only take 3weeks holiday a year? Why does it matter to anyone other than the person themself if the have no family obligations?

AstroKate · 18/06/2019 21:41

So many questions: is the issue money? Are there shared contributions to household? Can the person afford to live on 23 hours a week? Is someone else paying for holidays or are they able to from their salary? Is the chronic condition manageable with tablets/do flare ups mean they are unable to work? What sort of work do they do, manual or is it sedentary?

Context is key otherwise opinions are like shooting in the dark...

pictish · 18/06/2019 21:41

Obviously more details are required to form an answer worth offering.

Crunchymum · 18/06/2019 21:42

At least the OP doesn't have a "vote" button Grin

iklboo · 18/06/2019 21:42

The question is almost like 'how long is a piece of string'. Without the background we can't answer.

sneakypinky · 18/06/2019 21:43

This is far too vague for anyone to comment realistically.

tenlittlecygnets · 18/06/2019 22:04

23 hours is not loads to work but if they can pay all their bills when working those hours, then why not?

They have no dc or dependants. Also, their chronic illness probably makes them tired.

Why do you care? Who are they?

chipsandgin · 18/06/2019 22:21

Totally depends on what the chronic illness is, why it matters to you, whether that 23 hours earns them 10k or 1 million.

Also if it’s salaried the three weeks is less than the pro-rata statutory allowance so why not take more? Just not in any way enough information to know really.,
