My washing machine was packing up so I panicked ( no washing machine here would be carnage) and ordered a new one. In the time the new one came out current one seemed to have sorted itself out. Thankfully we had a space for it to go in the kitchen and dh plumbed it in. So now I have two washing machines and I can't believe I didn't do this sooner. When the old washing does finally pack up I shall be replacing it sharpish. It's literally made my life so much easier. Sad I know Confused

Olives. I tried olives about 4 months ago and am hooked on them. But only green ones in lemon and herbs.

Loungewear. Bought a couple of sets online a few weeks ago and I love them! So so comfy.
Also got my first ever trainers last month Grin I'm 35. Is this a semi midlife crisis?

My steam mop. It's only a cheap one, but it's made cleaning the floor so much easier

Grumpos · 18/06/2019 22:35

Cordless hoover. Game changer.
Me and DP laugh about how much we love hoovering now. Am moving soon and hoping to invest in the super duper cordless one off the TV. Gtech is it?

HazelBite · 18/06/2019 22:39

I couldn't live without my two washing machines!
We are a household of 6 adults, there is an unbelievable amount of washing.
I also have a free standing cooker in the kitchen and a similar fan oven built into the units in the utility room. I couldn't do without either.
I only have one microwave as the second broke down and I didn't think a second one was entirely necessary.

SecretWitch · 18/06/2019 22:43

Drunk Elephant Peeke bar. I’ve never had a cleanser that made my face feel so moisterised. No dry or tight feeling when finished.

HasThisSoddingNameGoneToo · 18/06/2019 22:45

Boots cold cream. It’s thick and hoppy but my skin looks plumped, smooth and “filled out” somehow.

HasThisSoddingNameGoneToo · 18/06/2019 22:45

Not hoppy, it’s not a beer FFS. goopy

recklessruby · 18/06/2019 22:45

Lush s sea salt big hair shampoo. You only need a little bit and it really works.
My hair is thicker and fuller just in a few weeks and it was looking very sad and limp not long ago as i have been growing it and not been well.

stihlhere · 18/06/2019 22:46

My Bose sleepbuds. Bloody expensive but worth every penny. No longer hear dh’s snoring and sleep though the night

DramaRamaLlama · 18/06/2019 22:51

Double draw dishwasher has been transformative.

And whilst it's an oldy it's a goody: the Babyliss bighair

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 18/06/2019 22:52

The biggest Kenwood chef we could fit in the kitchen, even though there are only two of us. It's just much much easier to use than the small one that died. And I don't care if the case that holds all the bits has an even bigger footprint than the actual Kenwood,

The Roomba (like everyone else I know that has one).

Finally a dishwasher, but a work-surface ("counter-top") one because there is no room for a floor-stander. The only one our big plates will fit into is a Boshe, so that's what we've got.

wheelywheelynice · 18/06/2019 22:52

Three things have changed my life recently.

  1. Absolutely Pure Skin Food - made with beef dripping, which sounds yucky but has put an end to my chronically dry skin.
  2. A Google Mini in every room in the house.
  3. iRobot Braava Jet - my kitchen floor gets mopped every single night now!
Paddy1234 · 18/06/2019 22:53

Aveeno cream
Bloody love it

IncyWincyGrownUp · 18/06/2019 23:04

The dishwasher. It’s only a midrange beko one, but it has made a massive difference to our lives.

Having multiple gaming consoles. I have children with autism. Their screen time is limited, but multiple consoles means that when they are permitted to game they can do so without argument.

A rather odd one, but I sat and sewed myself some bra conversion thingies. A piece of wide elastic and a set of hooks and eyes. I have ridiculously sloped shoulders and lose all bra straps. I now make all my bras into racer backs and don’t have to retrieve the straps umpteen times an hour now. Cost pennies, but I love it.

IncyWincyGrownUp · 18/06/2019 23:05

I will agree with the echo love too. We have four, and they’re excellent for alarms, music, random questions, reminders, timers, and generally palming off inquisitive seven year olds onto. Magic.

Yabbers · 18/06/2019 23:21

Our Roomba! Can’t believe how much of a difference it’s made, and we’ve only had it a week!

Give it time. I’m constantly having to “rescue” ours when it gets stuck 😂

sweeneytoddsrazor · 19/06/2019 00:30

A potato chipper. Which is great at making celeriac chips

Anarchyshake · 19/06/2019 00:37

Memory foam mattress topper. We were going to buy an entire new mattress. Now we've spent a fraction of the price a d don't need a new mattress. And OMG our bed is like a gorgeous sleep-cloud of magicness now.

Second the pp who mentions supports for plantar fasciitis. I have an expensive but wonderful pair of 'socks' for this, which are like black tubigrips with a squishy padded heel. I unfortunately left it very very late to see a doctor about it and don't think it's going to go away ever now, but there is some relief. I just need to afford the night time boot now.

MaMisled · 19/06/2019 00:45

A little milk frother! Oh my days! Dreamy, frothy coffee!

theWarOnPeace · 19/06/2019 00:50

Urban decay make up setting spray. I don’t often wear a full face of make up lately, but when I do this is just incredible. I can still look like I’ve just put my make up on at midnight after leaving the house at 7am. I wish I’d had it in my heavy partying years, or while giving birth! With my first I went into labour with a full face of make up on, looked like the joker by the end of it as it was all rushed and didn’t have time to remove.

SpeckofStardust · 19/06/2019 01:24

AirPods - they’re like my favorite things ever.
Wet Brush Pro - where have you been all my life?

steff13 · 19/06/2019 01:47

Eyelash extensions. They make me like my face better.

Lavido Mandarin, Orange, & Bergamot body lotion. The smell! ♥️

Popc0rn · 19/06/2019 02:02

@gerbilfun

You shave the area first, then zap it bit by bit with machine, every two weeks for the first 4 - 5 treatments, then 8 maintenance treatments every 4 - 8 weeks after that, after those 8 touch up treatments you can be hair free for up to 6 months apparently! It takes me about 30 minutes to do both legs, 2 minute to do armpits, and 5 minutes to do bikini area. I love it, it was an expensive gadget, but well worth it in the long run in terms of saving time, and will work out cheaper than having waxes etc in the long run.

Spidey66 · 19/06/2019 06:20

This.

BananaCatto · 19/06/2019 06:30

Dyson hair dryer. I’ve gone from it taking 40+ mins to dry my hair to about 16. I have really long, really thick hair so this is a game changer

Oysterbabe · 19/06/2019 06:38

Both already mentioned but I've bought a few pairs of modibodi and an instant pot too.
I made the nicest pasta dish in my instant pot the other day, dumped the ingredients in and dinner 20 minutes later.
