To worry about 14-year-olds alone in Thorpe Park?

My DD's friend is having a birthday celebration at Thorpe Park with about six friends. One of parents will be "on site" but will not accompany the youngsters in an effort not to cramp their style.
I of course am fearing the worst -- kids falling out of roller coasters, breaking limbs, etc. Am I being an idiot? Would you let your 14-year-old go? Please don't judge me; I'm a worrier.

Well done OP! Glad you're going to let her go!

It's the road trip there and back that you need to be worrying about

Your children is two years away from being able to get married! I thinks it's ok to let them go to a theme park.

We lived in West London and my two were going to Thorpe park alone from that age on public transport. They were probably safer in a theme park than on the public transport l think. Just make sure they have pockets that do up for phones and money.

Yabvu

Seriously at 14 they need independence!

We let our 11 yr old DTs amble around Thorpe Park whilst we sat down. They're big enough to go on all the rides.
