Sleep routine. Please help!

Posted on sleep board but not had a response yet. Sorry for posting here.

My 7.5 month old baby has no routine. He had a perfect routine until teething started. He now goes to sleep at 22:00 or after and wakes at 7:30. He has the usual 2-3 short naps a day at roughly the same time. His sleeping pattern is consistent but the times won't suit when I go back to work.

I'm really struggling and need help to change his routine as stress free as possible. I'm a lone parent and doing this first time on my own. Feeling a bit lost!

Hi, OP.

I'm also a first time, lone parent to a 10 month old.

I'd suggest leaving 2.5/3 hours between naps. So, awake at 7:30 then a nap at 10:00/10:30. Awake at maybe 11:30/12:00 and another nap at 14:30/15:00. Awake at 16:00/16:30 for bed at 19:30. And maybe drop the third nap?

My night time routine is bath, book, bottle, bed.

This worked for me Smile so I hope it's of some help to you!

The routine I’ve been using since mine was 3 months - now 9.5 months - is;
Wake 6-6.30
Morning nap 2.5 hours after waking - 30/45 mins
Lunch nap : 2.5 hours after woken from morning nap - anything from 1-2 hours (rarely goes to 2)

When he was 6-8 months he would occasionally have 15 mins afternoon nap but I don’t let him do that now unless he hasn’t had the lunch nap at all.

Wherever possible do not let them nap after 3ish, you want 4 hours awake time between lunch nap and bed time.

Mine has dinner at 5, bath at 6, bottle at half 6 and into his grow bag with dummy and a cuddle by 7. Usually takes 15 mins down time to get to sleep.
He is generally sleeping through the night now but does not sleep past 6ish.
Make sure the room is pitch black as well!

It sounds like yours is possibly napping too late in the day or not having enough awake time if they’re not sleeping until 10?
Or could be overtired from insufficient sleep in the day?
It’s a bit trial and error but definitely monitor the awake times and try and balance the day naps
Good luck!
