I have a complicated prescription - high astigmatism, minus 8 in both eyes and I need varifocals. I've worn varifocals from Boots without issue for 2.5 years

Anyway went to specsavers this time. Mainly because I get two pairs for price of one. Picked up new pairs on Thursday and I'm struggling with them. Everything is blurry, especially looking down. I wasn't sure when I tried them on in the shop - was advised to 'start afresh' next morning with them and they made various adjustments but I'm not particularly happy or convinced - my vision was better in my old varifocals. My prescription has only changed very slightly anyway

So my question. These were £400. Will they refund them because I'm just not happy with my vision in them? In 30 odd years of wearing glasses, I've never returned a pair before!

My last test and glasses, I went to the Asda near to my workplace. Very thorough and my new glasses were right first time. I have astigmatism and -10 lenses too. Got a pair of varificals plus prescription sunnies pretty cheaply.

Before that, I'd used the Specsavers in my home town, and I found I was having to complain about varifocals when I'd never had a problem with single vision.

I went to Specsavers at the end of April and only this weekend I managed to get a refund for a pair of glasses Sad

I used to go to Boots and in a bid to save money I went to them-never again. Wink First it was my prescription (-6), then it was the frame (they helped me choose), then it was the thickness (i had them thinned on their advice), then they were plastic (so may bend in the hot weather 😳). I asked for a refund.

My kids keep saying 'should never go to Specsavers'

Good luck 😉

When I picked mine up they felt wrong and the guy was all 'Oh, they'll be fine.' I kept trying but they were no good. Took them back and spoke to someone else, she was very good and identified that they didn't have me looking through the middle of the lens properly - you know when they measure the distance between your pupils. She took them back and I ended up picking new frames too and they were made up for no additional charge (the glasses were the same price)
