Leaving my dog in the car

Evening all,
Would I be unreasonable to leave my dog in the car outside on my drive for an hour or 2 whilst I have visitors? It's my grandchild and gc parents aren't keen on gc being around the dog ( dog has been known to snap so fair enough ) can't put her in another room as she escapes or just barks loud, would this be okay or cruel?

Totally agree @thinkingaboutfostering

As I said too, this isn’t a blanket no. It can be done safely.

On comng back I noticed that everyone is talking about overheating.

The real danger is that cars don't regulate heat when cold either. On cold days, not even in winter, your dog is more likely to nigh on freeze as the interior temp drops like a stone, feels like the inside of a fridge!

My real problems with my dog will come in the depths of winter, how to keep him warm enough in the car!
