To think I can fit into this dress

First world problem if ever there was one. Also probably not strictly an AIBU posting for traffic.

My friend is having a big 40th mid July. The evening is a dressed up event, as posh as you like but most people will dress up.

I really don't want to buy something new. I have a dress that would be perfect but bought 2 years ago and is now too small. I can do it up by some miracle but it's very tight and not comfortable.

Can I lose the weight in a month? If so, how?

Cut carbs and calorie count. I eat about 1400 a day. I’ve lost 8 kegs in 9 weeks

Dont CIT your carbs out completely, otherwise you'll just put all the weight back on after. Just switch to good carbs, I.e whole meal bread and pasta, lots of veg and snack on fruit, nuts and yogurt. If you want to lose weight and maintain it healthily it really is just a case of eating less and moving more

If the purpose is to lose weight for an event and not a lifestyle change. Then I wouldn't count on excercise and calorie counting. I would go on no carbs, no sugar, no alcohol. Plenty of liquid, maybe replacing meals with juices and boring soups. Basically no fun and being miserable. Obviously if wanting to make a lifestyle change and lose weight permanently when I'd add the excercise and calorie counting and do healthy and good balanced diet.

You absolutely can loose weight in a month, but what you can't control is where you will loose the weight from, you could loose a stone and still not fit into the dress so might be good to get a back up.

CatOnASwing · 14/06/2019 10:07

Once you've lost the weight, if you eat to your (new) TDEE, then you won't put the weight back on.

There is a very odd idea around, that whether or not you put the weight back on after a diet is somehow dependent on the type of diet you followed, or the speed of weight loss.

It's nonsense, willpower and a bit of self control are the only things that will enable you to maintain a healthy weight over the course of your lifetime.

...to answer your original question, yes, if you can already do the dress up, I'm pretty confident that you will be looking amazing in it in a month.

Good luck OP! xx
