Sensitive and caring GP in Wandsworth

Hello everyone,
I am reposting this with a different title!
I have had this.problem for many years now. I went from being a relatively carefree teenager to a worried anxiety sufferer when it comes to my health or others'.
I seem to get panicky when at the gp waiting room and worry about many things like will they be annoyed at me cause I am being a nuisance etc. It is even worse when I am i hospitals as I inevitably associate bad things and bad endings to being in a hospital. I would so much like to be like one of those perfectly cool and calm patients that just take medical appointments for what they are as I do get into a loop whereby I am nervous, them become more nervous and almost cause what i am more worried about to happen eg being sent for further checks as the doctor gets worried.
I am currently looking to register for a gp locally, I am in the wandsworth area and would be curious to hear if any of you has a god experience with a caring and patient gp in the area who can be tactful and understanding of people with health anxiety. I am pretty much only anxious when it comes to visiting a gp/hospital. Other than that Iam.ok!
Would be very grateful for any help! Thank you xx

You'll be restricted on which surgeries you can register at by your postcode. Your best bet would be to find out which surgeries you are eligible for (and which are currently open for new patients to register) and speaking to them directly.

It will be difficult for people to advise you as whilst they may have a great experience with a particular GP you may not be able to register with their practice.

If you are in Battersea then the Bridge Lane Group Practice is good.

Lockheart- forgot about the catchment area rule although as far as I know some surgeries are not that strict on that. I am in between wimbledkn/putney but I guess by hearing other people's experiences I also understand a bit more of what to look for even though I mart not be able to register with that practice.
Penguin and my fingers thanks for your suggestions. I am closer to the Thurleigh Rd one.

I really don’t think it is appropriate to be naming GPs by postcode online.

LittleMuffinBabyboy · 13/06/2019 18:58

Herculepoirot I was hoping to get an idea of good practices in the area, would have not asked for names and I think the lady that suggested someone in particular just did it innocently without realising Smile

I get it, OP. I just thought I’d mention it before everyone starts naming their doctor.

LittleMuffinBabyboy · 13/06/2019 19:21

Thanks for pointing that out :)

The Heathbridge Practice is good, if you are in their practice area

Obviously I won't name actual names but one of the male GPs is particularly good at dealing with the exact issues you describe. Good luck OP and I hope they're supportive and helpful.

LittleMuffinBabyboy · 14/06/2019 15:04

No wayLemony!this is a Godsend thank you so much x
