Recently watched White Water Summer with Kevin Bacon. That could never be made now, lol. But it's good to have a showcase for films from other eras as they help shine an enlightening light on the social mores previous generations grew up on.

I'll be watching that, HelenaDove, I adore spy films!

Talking Pictures is surprisingly great. I saw a film a few weeks back about two school kids who wanted to marry whilst at school, it was really well done.

MrsCasares · 29/07/2019 18:58

Favourite film of all time Green for danger was on talking pictures. Featured Alastair Sims and Megs Jenkins.

Love that channel.

HelenaDove · 29/07/2019 19:05

LyingWitch i posted that a couple of weeks ago. But im sure they will show it again at some point.
Ive got really into spy stuff as ive got older.

Im hoping they show Codename Kyril which is a spy miniseries that Edward Woodward did in 1988.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 29/07/2019 20:46

Oh. I didn't look at the date, HelenaDove. I've asked my husband to 'tape it'. Blush

I hope you're right and, if they do show Codenae Kyril, please give me a prod if you remember.

HelenaDove · 29/07/2019 23:05

Mystery and Imagination............Dracula.

MinesaPinot · 22/12/2019 22:29

I love Talking Pictures. They have some great films. I taped Yield to the Night some time ago - Diana Does as a convicted murdress which was loosely based on the Ruth Ellis case. Also I saw Sparrows Can't Sing with a very young Barbara Windsor which was filmed all round the Docklands in the 60's which I remember when I was a kid and brought back lots of memories.

@LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726

Not Kyril but Reilly Ace of Spies starts tonight. I vaguely remember watching it with my dad when i was a kid.

HeIenaDove · 27/02/2020 22:07

Watching Spring and Port Wine. Diana Coupland was underrated IMO and known for more than Bless This House.

mrsBtheparker · 27/02/2020 23:05

I love Forces TV, they've recently run the whole of Quantum Leap which had some very moving episodes, our grandaughter said they has been shown one as a part of their studying the Civil RIghts in the US.

Spring and Port Wine is a wonderful very under-rated play, Bill Naughton, we saw it at the Ocatagon in its home town of Bolton many many years ago,

FlamingoAndJohn · 27/02/2020 23:07

Did you know that it’s a family run channel?
I believe it’s a father and daughter.

HeIenaDove · 17/10/2020 23:03

Im currently watching Childs Play..................No not that one.

This was released in 1972 and is a supernatural thriller set in a Catholic boys school. With James Mason and Beau Bridges.
