To ask if you have poise and how quickly you can retrieve purse, specs, keys from your bag

You need to pay for something whilst out; can you reach into your bag and immediately retrieve your purse or do you need to root around, possibly having to remove a dozen objects before finding it.

Your mobile rings - how quickly can you find it?

As you approach your car/front door - do you have keys at the ready, or do you have to under go another undignified root around?

I find that the smaller the bag the harder it is to find things! I once had a panic at work that I couldn't find my car keys, eventually tipped stuff out to get them. One of my Year 11 said 'How the hell can you lose a set of car keys in such a small bag? I've got bigger pockets.'

I have zero poise I dropped an item yesterday at self checkout and as I picked it up ended up flinging it the direction of the poor man behind me

I've tried those organiser bags but I can never remember which pocket I've put what in. I swear I'm dispraxic!

I only have my phone and purse in my bag so find them easily and I always have keys in my hand on the way to the front door.

RezCowgirl · 12/06/2019 20:58

Keys in 1 coat pocket, phone in the other. Leave the purse at home and buy everything using Google pay. I've stopped carrying bags cos I fill them with shit I don't need to carry.

If I'm using a bag it's a small cross-body Radley which only takes my purse, mobile, small notebook, concealer, pen and keyring of loyalty tabs or card case of loyalty cards and sometimes emergency knitting or crochet for waiting around. My work bag is a backpack and when shopping I don't bother with it but leave it in the car and just take my purse and phone in my hand or in my pocket. Car keys are always easily accessible in my pocket. House keys live in a little cubby in the car.

My bag isn't huge but it does fit my mobile, combs, pens, mirror, sanpro, earphones, sewing kit, car/house keys, a bunch of work keys, my cash (which has its own pocket instead of using a purse) spare earrings, a large rolled up fabric shopping bag, a smaller plastic one and even a first aid kit!! It's like Mary Poppins swapped her massive carpet bag for a really small tartan cross body handbag. It's only missing the hat stand! Christ knows how I manage to fit everything in.

I am super quick because I have no bag, only pockets. I am very very far from poised I trip up kerbs regularly.
