I know I'm not bu but I've tried all the creams - most don't work and I've had it once where it worked if I had the cream on me and put it on as soon as I felt the "tingle"

I've also tried those little clear patch things (wasted half trying to open them!) but they just made the coldsore much bigger and full of pus!

I have a cluster at the moment and it's doing my head in!

Any of you have any good solution to dry it out quicker ?

I use ice cubes on the area a soon as I feel the tingle. This usually monimises the size or halts it altogether. Hold ice in place for as long as possible, minimum 10 mins.

I used to get loads of coldsores, and verrucas. Once I had about 20 verrucas on each foot and two coldsores at the same time. One day all the verrucas fell out, and coldsores disappeared just like that. Not had either since. No idea why, or if they were related, but i guess all the viruses etc caused something in my immune system to click in and I'm suddenly clear of both.

Ask your GP for a prescription for Valtrex tablets. Apparently they are commonly prescribed in Australia but according to our GP, who had lived there, GPs here think they are too expensive. However he said he couldn't see why I shouldn't have some. They are very effective.
If you hav recurrent cold sores, make a fuss until you get some.

Bonjela at first tingle and it shouldn't come out.

If it's out bonjela is still better than any coldsore remedy I've tried.

Lysine tablets Holland and Barrett and lysine lip cream

Thanks for all the comments! I've ordered some of the tablets from amazon and will start taking them tomorrow when they arrive! Will also talk to my gp as this is my second one in 3 weeks!!! And I am getting them very regular at the moment!
I've had them since I was 13 and kissed a boy with one 🙈 (didn't realise it was that!)

I did the perfume earlier but stupidly sprayed it and most went in my mouth 😂 so will dab it next time
It's now like a blister ready to pop! And two more spots have come up since I last posted!

Ice it and that reduces the swelling then with a cotton bud put acetone nail varnish remover on,it stings but it works and dries it out

My husband uses liquorice lip balm and liquorice gel. He says it's brilliant and much cheaper than Zovirax.
