It seems like there is no scope here for kindness, no scope for others to simply make a mistake or be inexperienced.

There seems to be this idea that each of us should expect perfect behaviour from others, with no room for mistakes or learning.
So if a partner is stressed and lashes out verbally...LTB
If a friend does something g wrong- go NC

I'm all for strong barriers, but I'm getting bummed at the lack of kindness I see

I get more bummed out by the numbers of women I see who tolerate complete shite from everybody in their lives.

Women put up with abuse for way too long, I think that's why advice is so strong here. I suffered from so many people taking advantage or abusing me for so long, now I just walk away if someone takes the piss.

I think that there is a real lack of tolerance in the way people respond to the OP (anyone who has been even slightly unreasonable is absolutely pilloried, as though it’s not something all of us are guilty of now and then) but in general I think it’s good when posters illustrate a no-tolerance policy towards partners who behave in abusive ways (even if just once) because as far as I can see there is way too much lenience granted towards people who behave this way and it’s good to counteract the balance!

My view, after prolonged reading, is that anyone who doesn’t express themselves to the nth degree or leaves themselves open to a wilful (mis)interpretation or has an opinion that is slightly away from the general consensus will be bullied &/or reported off the board
