How much does your child grow in a year?

I am not sure if I should contact my GP about my children's growth.
I am very short only barely 5ft (on 25th centile) and my DH is 5ft 9 (just on 50th centile) so I don't expect my children to be tall. We both come from families of shorties too.

My children are very small for their age through
DD is 11 yrs and 4.5 mths and is 137 cm (25th centile)
DS1 is 9 yrs and 7.5 mths and is 124 cm (0.4th centile)
DS2 is 8 yrs and 2.5 mths and is 117 cm (0.4th centile)

I found last years calender and I had measured them in end of July 2018 and they were 131,120,113 respectively.

Therefore DD grew 6 cm but in fairness about 2 of that was in the last couple of mths, she has started to show signs of breast development.
The boys only grew 4 cm in just under a year.
Im not terribly worried about DD as she is in the 25th centile same as me but the boys are extremely short especially compared to their peers. Their friends are head and shoulders taller than them.

Both children are very healthy, rarely sick, healthy weights and very active (they all play 5 sports per week).

I just feel my GP will say "sure look how small you are". Maybe that is the reason but both boys are practically off the chart in height.

So can I ask what rate your child grows at and if you have a really small child that caught up a bit when older.

Taking mine and DH's heights and taking the mid centile point, all children should be top end of 25th centile but boys below that.

Your DS1 is same hieght as my DD and about the same age. My DD grows at about 2cm every 5-6 months. Both me and her dad are just over 5ft so shes never going to be tall. So I think it's pretty normal

Your GP should refer you to an Endocrinologist. Please check out Child Growth Foundation charity in the meantime. I have a child whose growth slowed and we are now on a successful treatment for it but it helps to start as soon as you can. Average child growth is 5-6cm per year.
