Wibu to smother my oh

We're on holiday, sleeping in different rooms (albeit with very thin walls between us) I've got ear plugs in, white noise on and I can still hear him snoring. Second morning of our holiday and second early start for me because I just can't sleep through his snoring any more. And it's my birthday!! I'm nbu to go smother him right?

Can you ask the hotel for a different room? My DH is a loud snorer and it kills me, it really is the worst. Before him I never got why people got so worked up about it but my Christ it really is the worst thing ever!!!!

Hahaha88 · 10/06/2019 06:52

Isn't it though Trixie? Self deprivation is a form of torture for a reason.
Unfortunately we are in self catering accommodation not a hotel. So can't do that

It really is awful, I can only sympathise.

Happy birthday 🥳

TrixieFranklin · 10/06/2019 07:06

Oh balls you have no choice but to smother the bastard then Grin

LifeIsGoodish · 10/06/2019 07:41

Why are you in different rooms? At least if you were in the same room you could prod him with a sharp stick. You might not get more sleep, though!

BigChocFrenzy · 10/06/2019 07:44

Use this holiday to sleep train your DH - it's not cruel for an adult !

Disfordarkchocolate · 10/06/2019 07:46

Could he move to the sofa?

Hahaha88 · 10/06/2019 07:48

@clucky3 thank you

@TrixieFranklin I think you're right

@LifeIsGoodish because then we'd both be tired. At least this way I don't have to put up with a grumpy through lack of sleep oh as well as being tired myself lol

@BigChocFrenzy train him not to sleep? Cos I don't think I can train him to sleep and not snore lol

If you need an alibi I'm here.

Hahaha88 · 10/06/2019 07:49

@Disfordarkchocolate might suggest one of us sleeps on it tonight actually

OP posts:
Disfordarkchocolate · 10/06/2019 07:52

Surely the one making the noise moves? Well, that's how it works in my house.Smile

LifeIsGoodish · 10/06/2019 07:57

My dh is generally oblivious to having been prodded. He rarely wakes fully, just rolls over. I only actually wake him if I cannot get him to respond to the prod. I find the snoring is worse if I cannot prod him.

A snoring partner is aaaaRRRRGGGHHHHH, , frustrating.

I could hear my late DF snoring on the other side of the hotel corridor, let alone in the next room.
I'll help you hide the body, I have bin bags and a spade.

SingingLily · 10/06/2019 08:32

I've got a patio that needs an upgrade. None of my neighbours would think it strange.

SammySamSam09 · 10/06/2019 09:02

Oh God my mum snores like that and she's angling to move in with us soon 😩
I feel ya OP.

Hahaha88 · 10/06/2019 21:50

@Disfordarkchocolate he's off to sleep on it now 💪

@LifeIsGoodish most of the time of I prod him he rolls over and starts snoring in about 0.0054 seconds

@TrixieFranklin love it

@maggienolia awesome. Might give you a bell tomorrow lol

@SingingLily @maggienolia and I might be round tomorrow 👌

@SammySamSam09 god don't do that to yourselves!!!!

Surely he should be off to sleep on the pointy stick?

DP snores so loud at times, you can hear him from the front door.

The bed in the spare room/studio is always made up for such occasions, but I found that earphones and a nice bit of Rennaisance Polyphony blocks out enough for me to sleep most of the time.

It's worse when he's flailing about and shouting in his sleep. When that happens, I wish he'd just snore again.
